Hello, this is a brief description of my professional and educational background.I received my Bachelor's degree in Textile Chemistry from Government Central Textile Institute, Kanpur in the year 1983 and subsequently, I obtained my Master's Degree in Technology (Specialization in Fiber Science and Technology) from IIT Delhi in the year 1999. I garnered my PhD in Design from IIT Guwahati, Assam. In 1991, after eight years of industrial experience in several textile industries, I joined as a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology in Salem which is under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India organization. Later, I worked for the Ministry of Textile at the other IIHTs in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and Guwahati, Assam for nearly 19 years until joining the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology in Guwahati as Director(Institute) in 2010. I was then relocated to IIHT, Bargarh, Odisha and joined as Director ( Institute). In July 2019, I superannuated from my position. Besides administrative duties, I was in charge of technical subjects for the courses of final year students. Textile Processing, Fiber Science, and Textile Testing of Materials were among the courses I taught. In addition to my usual lectures, I guided more than 20 textile technology and processing projects.In the realm of textiles and design, I intend to impart the knowledge and expertise I've gained from working with private and public sector industrial and academic institutions. Willing to offer my full potential to the organization's success as a major participant in a demanding and creative atmosphere.
