This was perhaps the hardest job of my life, helping elementary school kids with emotional issues and trauma. But it was also some of the best training that allows me to quickly help the professionals I coach to identify and work with emotions that they feel, or that their colleagues or employees are experiencing. In this demanding role, I counseled K-5 students with severe emotional issues, including depression, anxiety, dissociative identity disorder, and suicidality. I helped them using play therapy, sand tray, art therapy, and expressive movement. I also advised faculty on assisting austic-spectrum boys and disruptive girls in cultivating social skills.

In this role, I negotiated with top-ranked international business schools, including Harvard, London Business School, IESE, and Stanford to acquire content in MBA-level core business fundamentals. I lead a cross-functional team that designed interactive online learning modules used by corporate universities. With no prior business development background, I cultivated over $5 million worth of new business in less than one year. I customized management education modules for organizations such as GE, and Unisys, as well as executive education programs at business schools including Duke University and UCLA. Facilitated focus groups with HR, Learning + Development, and line organization staff to understand customer needs and enhance new product offerings. I managed a dedicated team to market and facilitate corporate knowledge-sharing communities for leading Fortune 500 companies.

I developed and managed an intensive executive development program on a $2 million annual budget for 50+ international “fast-track” and "high potential" consultants to provide a “mini-MBA.” I managed a staff of five within the HR organization to coordinate all participant operations and logistics including HR, travel, visas, legal issues, and lodging costs for participants from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Reduced costs in second year by 50% through strategic negotiations.I coordinated with others on the Global HR Team to research, develop, and promote new training courses.

Provided guidance to C-suite executives of leading healthcare (including UnitedHealthcare, Kaiser Permanente, Group Health) and consumer products companies (including Levi-Strauss & Company) in the development of corporate strategies and implementation plans. Project manager for 3- to 9-month highly complex projects with multiple stakeholders, requiring sensitivity and confidentiality. Highlights of client engagements include:• Health Futures Forum, Singapore – Researched and designed educational materials for a conference of prominent worldwide healthcare executives and policy makers for presentation in Singapore. • Kaiser Permanente. North Bay - Redesigned the delivery of patient care on the medical-surgical units of three hospitals. Managed cross-functional stakeholders comprising 40 clinical and managerial personnel, including nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, and accounting staff. Determined optimal patient-to-staff ratios through interviews and detailed financial analysis. Developed and monitored multi-million dollar budget for hospital transformation program. Created implementation plans that lead to a 10% reduction in total costs in the first year. • Levi-Strauss & Company, San Francisco - Developed communication strategy and materials used in a major corporate transition. Coached senior staff to counsel employees on new career progression issues.

• Conducted benchmarking study of Fortune 500 training practices to enhance salesforce productivity. • Interviewed salespeople in the field to determine processes for learning about newly released semiconductor products in a rapidly- changing market. Recommended adoption of new technologies that enabled rapid access to information and increased salesforce job satisfaction an average of 20% across sales territories.

• Conceived, produced, and marketed management training programs for global companies including ARCO, IBM, GE, Keebler, and Procter & Gamble. Topics included time management and project management. • Trained a nationwide salesforce of over 50 on newly released products and enhancements.
