It's been a wild ride. While I was in grad school, I developed software at Google. Then, I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.After graduation, I created a reputation system for an Internet security startup that was eventually acquired. Next, I did classified work for a super hush hush company that I'm still not allowed to talk about.Not too long after that, I sold all of my belongings and moved to New Zealand (the super hush hush company was not thrilled).After backpacking around New Zealand, I became a visiting professor at the University of Canterbury. Tragically, on the first week of classes, the 2011 Christchurch earthquake devastated the city. I spent that semester teaching students in a hotel dining room, and then I returned to the States to start a digital marketing consultancy.Many years (and many consulting projects) later, I started working with Mike Carson at Park.io on a number of exciting projects centered around the domaining industry. The Machine Learning course was focused on the theory and implementation of popular statistical learning algorithms. The Computer Forensics course covered the social, legal, and technical aspects of cyber crime as well as forensic techniques used to combat those criminal activities.• Mentored 50 undergraduate students and advised on special projects for COSC401 and COSC425. This mentorship became particularly important after the tragic earthquake that struck Christchurch on February 22, 2011. -
