My primary goals are to build communities that will effectively meet the growing challenges of a changing climate, and to ensure the world is a safe place for my grandchildren.I was appointed as Chief Executive of Community Energy Plus in January 2013; I joined the charity as Director of Corporate Services in 2009 and became Director of Advice, Communities and Education later that year.Currently we are leading the way in Cornwall on community-owned renewable energy projects; developing models for local groups to understand their energy needs as a part of a sustainable future. We are exploring innovative ways for local groups to make use of the Feed-in Tariffs and Renewable Heat Incentive. Also we are delivering a wide range of practical solutions for householders to manage their energy needs, including improving the basic insulation of homes, ensuring they are free from damp and keep warm. We are particularly concerned to ensure that those on limited incomes get the help they need and don't suffer health and education impacts because their homes are cold or damp.With over 20 years experience in the administration of civil society organisations I bring high-level strategic and operational insight to build business performance. A pro-active leader I am committed to mentoring, coaching and empowering staff to achieve their full potential and to build cohesive, effective teams.
