As a Superintendent of Schools, I am responsible for the operation of the school system within the general policies established by the Board of Trustees and within the authority of law. I provide leadership and strategic direction in developing and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services for the community while managing and executing the annual budget for the district and administering the use of all district facilities, property, and resources. I also formulate school objectives, policies, plans, and programs and accomplish district HR needs by hiring the best qualified and most competent candidates for teachers, supervisory, and administrative personnel.Selected accomplishments:- Redesigned district academic intervention programs that resulted in increased district accountability ratings from “C” (78) to “B” (87) and increased STAAR EOC scores by 5% across all exams- Implemented a new student progress monitoring system focused on curriculum-based assessments and adaptive testing, leading to an increase in academic ratings on 5 of 6 campuses in the district- Partnered with Amarillo College and 10 regional independent school districts to bring Gateway to Health Careers Project to Perryton- Effectively managed a $24M budget; balanced a $1.8M deficit in two years by reducing expenses by more than $900K in one year through implementation of efficient staffing patterns and cost control processes- Orchestrated a $7.1 million roof replacement project across multiple campuses, $800,000 lighting and energy efficiency project, $400,000 football turf replacement and $125,000 track refurbishment- Completed installation of high definition security cameras on all campuses and athletic facilities

During my tenure, I served as a Chief Executive Officer of the local school district holding full responsibility for the overall administrative and leadership services, covering personnel, finance, communication/community relations, student service, maintenance/capital improvement, curriculum, instruction, assessment, short and long-range planning, governance for student achievement, policy research/implementation, and overall leadership on educational issues. I also prepared and coordinated the overall financial planning of the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco Independent School District and managed a $7M budget. Selected accomplishments:- Reformed academic environment by focusing on greater rigor and more opportunities for college and career courses that boosted enrollment in CTE courses by 76% and in dual credit courses by 32%, all campuses in the district met and have maintained state testing standards for the first time in 3 years- Achieved District STAAR scores increase of an average of 6% across all subjects- Obtained a $200,000 competitive Career and Technology equipment grant- Increased revenues, imposed strict purchasing procedures, and produced the first surplus budget for the district in more than 5 years- Cut overall expenses by $1.3 million annually over a three-year period- Oversaw a $1M renovation project to increase district energy efficiency- Planned and spearheaded infrastructure enhancement projects designed to improve student experience and safety, including installation of district-wide WIFI and high-speed internet, new servers, and digital security cameras; replacing aging HVAC equipment, and installing a new high school gym floor

As a Mathematics and Computer Sciences Teacher, I developed and implemented lesson plans for Mathematics and Computer Sciences courses that fulfilled the requirements of the district's curriculum program. I evaluated and recorded various aspects of students’ progress, providing them with resources and feedback on their performance and devising appropriate teaching strategies to promote achievement of student objectives.
