This involves precepting, individual teaching, coordinated team talks, and formal preparation of board certified Continuing Education.-Pharmacist specific duties include reviewing medications for duplicate therapy, transcriptional errors, medication administration record errors, indication appropriateness, dispensing, and checking products i.e., staffing. Drug use evaluation reports, drug level evaluations for narrow therapeutic index medications, preparation of reports for P&T committee, preparation of formal statements for upcoming and new small molecules e.g., drugs. Training new onboarded staff.

• Pharmacist consult service: In 2013 I establish a pharmacist consult service in coordination with the Eshelman School of Pharmacy (ESoP), I was a pharmacist pilot for this program. I worked in both the inpatient and outpatient clinics to provide services. In 2017 a professor was added to the ESoP who joined this service in another outpatient clinic.o Patient populations: Mood, substance use disorders, and eating disorders• Psych Intern: My service went so well I worked with my attending to add a pharmacy student to the teaching service. This eventually culminated with a pharmacy student getting a paid position as a “psych intern” which continues to this day.

Working with mouse models to determine disposition and effects of anxiolytics and stimulants. Research focus is a combination of pharmacokinetics (drug concentration), genetics, and pharmacodynamics (response). Pharmacokinetics were measured using whole blood extractions which were further manipulated to be used for novel LC-MS/MS assays for quantification. Pharmacodynamic measures were specific to the exogenous compound of interest based on previous literature.

The International Society for CNS Clinical Trials and Methodology 2013o Neurocognitive Profile of Chronic Cannabis Users This research rotation enabled me to examine the effects of chronic cannabis use on global measures of mental function. The study included a comparison of chronic cannabis users to age- and sex-matched controls. When the groups differed, I added a comparison to individuals with a blood alcohol content of 0.08%. I found the individuals from the chronic cannabis use group did not differ from those acutely intoxicated with alcohol. The research was presented at the annual meeting of the International Society for Clinical Trial Methodologies.

Under direction of Principle Investigator Dr. Tom O'Connell I have completed a review of urinalysis of specimens collected from organic anion receptors 1 knock-out mice contrasted to wild type. The study did not reveal data inconsistent with other studies. The findings and data have been transferred to PI Dr. Nigam in California. The second project I began a review of metabolomics data collected on serum samples from atorvastatin. I acted primarily as a data mining metabolomics data via ACD labs 12 suite. My goal was to compare to clinical and gene expression data the serum concentrations of various metabolites for correlation. Utilizing 1D NMR analytic software to determine serum and urine metabolite variances in primate dams and offspring exposed to tobacco smoke.
