I have been in the educational field since 1984. I began my career as an early childhood teacher and then, after 15 years of teaching kindergarten and pre-k, I became a public school counselor. My responsibilities as a counselor, in the beginning, included counseling students from pre-k age to high school senior age. I have also been responsible for the state-mandated testing program as well as the college entrance exam programs. I published our school district's first course booklet for our middle school and high school students. At-risk, dyslexia, and Section 504 are also areas that I have been responsible for overseeing. I love animals and I began grooming dogs in 1976. To this day, I still groom dogs for a select group of clients.Art is one of the areas that I love, and I have sold some of my paintings.Writing is one of my pass times. To write something that includes your feelings, and experiences, that no one would otherwise know, is a way to leave your legacy, which I think is important for people to do.
