About Dru Morgan, Do

I'm a native of Wise County, Virginia, deep in the heart of the underserved Appalachian mountains. Born and raised in a small town I greatly value interactions with community and people. My life experiences far exceed my years as an adult and range from business owner to police officer and now physician.My decision to pursue a career in medicine began as a love for science that soon melded with my love for people. A stint as a medical missionary in Belize and Remote Area Medical expeditions stateside greatly influenced my decision. I'm now a medical school graduate and emergency medicine resident physician at Charleston Area Medical Center.I chose emergency medicine to satisfy my desire to surround myself with evidence-based care, exciting and evolving cases, and team-based delivery of healthcare.

Duties include two yearly meetings - May 2015 for the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine meeting in San Diego followed by the American College of Emergency Physicians meeting in Boston in October 2015.
