I transitioned from being a tax expert to loan origination in 1993. I learned the business by studying Fannie Mae and Government guidelines. By 1997, I was training loan originators, which led to office management. In 2008 (as the lending and housing market was collapsing) I opened my own brokerage. The Dodd Frank Act brought massive regulations to the mortgage industry. Really, the regulations brought guidelines back to the standards that I originally learned.Today, my brokerage is closing loans in 2 to 3 weeks with the most competive rates.
