I taught at a middle school that is ranked among the top 30% of public schools in Arizona. My current position is 5th and 6th grade social studies. I have two sections of gifted students, and teach three sections of students with mixed abilities. I manage a total of 165 students. On top of my duties as a teacher, I am on the Positive Behavior Support Committee and the Student Success Team. This position has taught me to handle difficult situations, multi-task, and problem solve with a team and independently. These skills are highly transferable to other positions that I am seeking.

In the Cartwright School District, I was an eighth Grade English teacher. I taught four sections of English, one of which was for the gifted cohort and one for English language learners. On top of my teaching responsibilities, I was the college and career ready teacher for the Aguila Program and I was on the Positive Behavior Intervention Support team. During these first two years of my teaching career, I took extra classes in order to obtain my endorsement for gifted education.

I was a teaching assistant for an introduction to education class at Northern Arizona University. This role required me to lead a smaller group of undergraduate students in discussion and activities during class. Outside of class time, I graded and provided feedback on students' written assignments. This class gave me the opportunity and confidence to lead a group of adults.

As a Pearson Vue test proctor at Northern Arizona University, I monitored people taking exams ranging from real estate agents to students taking Economics finals. I maintained test security, scheduled appointments, answered phones, and communicated via email. As a proctor, I learned how an office runs and how to communicate with customers.
