Reporting to the group Head of ICT – functioning as the group lead for all Infrastructure and Telecom related services across all 42 locations. RESPONSIBLE FOR:Vendor management including negotiation of contracts for infrastructure and telecommunication services. Capacity planning overseeing planned upgrades including virtual machine / storage performance and capacity / LAN and WAN / data center - capacity and capability. All group related local and international telecommunications operations. Continuously improving IT services while strictly adhering to budgets. Agreeing and implementing the groups central service catalogue cost charge-out model.All group related central data center operations including all virtualisation / storage management and standards compliance (ISO 27001 and Tier-3).Complete ground up construction of the groups Tier-3 (compliance certified) data centers at Colombo and Ekala .Scoping and implementing the groups ERP HA / DR strategy through the use of VMWare SRM / Cisco Nexus 7000 and other suitable technology. Implementation of best practices for the IT service function, standard operating procedures and ITIL compliant tools and continuous review and improvement process. Identifying and implementing industry best practice solutions for internal deployment to further increase efficiency and service. (Through the participation of Microsoft / VMWare / Cisco events in India / Singapore and USA). We have successfully implemented solutions such as Crestron office automation via the internal IT team when local support was unavailable.

Reporting to the head of business systems – functioning as the IT lead for all IT Infrastructure and Telecom related services across Unilever Sri Lanka sites. RESPONSIBLE FOR:All aspects of IT service delivery including support desk, level 2 support, regional escalation and infrastructure support.IT Infrastructure Change Manager and also ITIL rollout lead for Unilever Sri Lanka. Operational Safety Marshall for the IT function.Ensure group infrastructure policies and processes are carried out. The central IT function being located in Unilever Asia IT (Singapore) IT Governance and regulatory compliance for IT infrastructure including Sarbanes-Oxley.Also responsible for the ground up IT infrastructure implementation of the new Unilever 28 acre manufacturing site in Horana from a Greenfield state. Total project duration was 24 months.
