During my time at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, I gained comprehensive experience across multiple specialties, including Surgery and Child Health, in one of Ghana’s busiest teaching hospitals.In the Surgery rotation, I assisted in patient management, performed basic surgical procedures, and participated in ward rounds and detailed documentation. I worked closely with senior consultants, ensuring patient care adhered to the highest standards of medical ethics and clinical practice.In the Child Health rotation, I diagnosed and treated a wide range of pediatric and neonatal conditions, managed emergencies, and provided follow-up care. I was actively involved in history taking, physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic tests, while contributing to academic presentations and departmental health outreach programs.Additionally, I participated in clinical rounds and case discussions, supervised medical students , and collaborated on patient management plans, enhancing my clinical skills, patient management abilities, and commitment to continuous professional development.

As the head of the Project Committee of the Education committee of the KSMD MSA, I spearheaded the Clean-Ghana Campaign which was aimed at improving sanitation and promote environmental stewardship.-I developed strategic partnerships with local councils to support public health initiatives.

Responsibilities: • Managed administrative tasks, including minute-taking for all hearings and subcommittee meetings of the Judicial Committee. • Actively participated in reviewing and amending the Student Representative Council (SRC) constitution to enhance governance and student engagement. • Facilitated communication between the committee and the student body, ensuring transparency and accountability.Achievements: • Successfully implemented key constitutional amendments, including the establishment of the Women’s Commissioner portfolio. • Improved student governance by increasing participation in decision-making processes and enhancing the clarity of SRC protocols..

I had the opportunity of undertaking my nursing training in the hospital.During the period of the training, I benefitted from the holistic training that came with attaining knowledge on nursing care and the requisite skills in the various nursing procedures. I had the opportunity of improving on my communication skills with my patients as well as developing good networking skills with the patient relatives and colleagues.University of Ghana Hospital, Legon popularly known as Legon Hospital, is a quasi- government hospital established to cater for the needs of the staff of the university, children and by extension members of the district with a wide catchment area.
