Right after I closed down my highly successful ophthalmology practice, I took my time to go through the emotions and get in touch with my soul's calling. Even though I was practicing conventional medicine, unfortunately, I was working in a system that was essentially a 'sick-care' system rather than one that fostered holistic health care for people. I always had a deep appreciation for an integrated wellness approach that incorporated the mind, body, and spirit in conjunction with our environment. I understood that if we humans lived in harmonic balance with our nature, we can not only better process our inner mental and emotional chemistry but also preempt the onset of disease. This recognition brought me closer to my own clairvoyant and claircognizant abilities. Even when I was back at medical school, I would be able to derive answers to complex problems and successfully treat my patients through my intuitive gifts. As a practicing ophthalmologist, I would often have people reach out to me from far away places and yet I would know exactly what their problem was and advise suitable treatment. I then began coaching people through long-distance and designed a toolkit that helped them seek the right medication for their issues. In 2015 I became a certified homeopathy practitioner from The Center for Education and Development of Clinical Homeopathy (CEDH). In 2018 I topped it up with a certificate in functional medicine from the Institue of Functional Medicine (IFM).Over the past decade, I've helped transform the lives of several hundreds of doctors, surgeons, and medical professionals by guiding them to tap into their innate intuitive abilities to reach their health and wellness goals as well as grow their conventional medical practice. It's often believed in the medical profession here in the US that less than 3% of aspiring doctors go on to become ophthalmologists. This is due to its highly competitive nature and I'd fondly refer to ophthalmology as the 'Rolls Royce' of all medical specialties. As someone who worked incredibly hard to be at the top of the class, I had the opportunity to train as a fellow under Dr. Steven M. Podos, a world-renowned authority on glaucoma management at the Mt. Sinai Hospital. I opened my clinical practice in New Jersey immediately after my fellowship. From seeing a handful of patients a week, I quickly built up my practice by bringing on a team of 6 doctors collectively seeing several hundred patients a month. As a young mother of two, I was constantly juggling a thriving practice and a rapidly growing business. During the same time, I also made the conscious decision to homeschool my children. I wanted to take personal responsibility and a deep interest in my children's growth and be a part of their learning journey. It was the best decision of my life. When my ophthalmology practice hit the 10-year mark, we had successfully performed hundreds of surgeries and treated multiple thousands of patients. While on the outside, it appeared I had everything together - the accolades, a flourishing practice, a profitable business, rock-sold marriage, and a loving family, whereas on the inside I was truly and positively burned out. I was exhausted and disenchanted.More importantly, I soon realized I was battling clinical depression but I just couldn't talk about it with anybody. The immense pressure of constantly staying at the top of my game had finally gotten the better of me. Upon deeper reflection, I realized I just didn't want to do it anymore. This was my 'dark night of the soul' moment. So in 2008, I made the bold decision to close my practice and rewrite a new chapter of my life. A chapter that would bring me more joy, meaning, fulfillment and purpose.
