Veteran psychiatrist Wayne Macfadden has worked in his field for more than two decades. Earning his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Medicine from the City College of New York, Dr. Macfadden enrolled at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine for his medical degree. Dr. Macfadden then completed an Internal Medicine internshop at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, New York, before completing his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, department of Psychiatry. In 1989, Dr. Macfadden became a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. After one year as a Staff Psychiatrist at the Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Dr Macfadden joined the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He served as Unit Chief in the Inpatient Detoxification unit for three years and the Inpatient Dual Diagnosis Unit for an additional three years. Other clinical positions that Dr. Macfadden held include Attending Psychiatrist at the Virtua Health System, and the the University Medical Center at Princeton, NJ. A member of numerous professional organizations, Dr. Wayne Macfadden is affiliated with the American Psychiatric Association, International Society of CNS Drug Development, International Society for Bipolar Disorders, and International Society of CNS Trial Methodology. Licensed in New Jersey, he is a Diplomate with The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, National Board of Medical Examiners, with Added Qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Wayne Macfadden was also appointed membership in The American College of Psychiatrists and The College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
