Associate Professor Wendy James is a Fellow of Certified Practicing Accountants of Australia (FCPA) and fully Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Wendy is also a Senior Fellow with the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Prior to taking on her current role A/P James was the National Deputy of the Business School, Acting National Head of the Business School and prior to that the Discipline Head for the Accounting, Finance and Economics disciplines, she has held this role numerous times at various institutions in Australia and internationally. Wendy has been and is a course coordinator for the majority of business and accounting courses delivered through the Business School including the Bachelor of Commerce, the Bachelor of Accounting and Finance and the Bachelor of Information Technology. Wendy is also an experienced eLearning manager, designer and developer for vocational, undergraduate and post graduate courses being awarded an ACU Innovation and Technology award in 2021 and 2022. She has developed a Massive Open Online Course in Accounting, as well as many other eLearning courses. She has a wealth of experience in teaching financial and managerial accounting courses and information systems. A/P James has taught at various universities in Australia and overseas as well as in industry. Prior to teaching A/P James was involved in a number of management positions both in industry and the public sector. In her early academic career, Wendy was awarded the Women’s Academic Achievement Award which enabled her to further her interest in research. Dr James’s current research interests include eLearning, performance management, accounting, administrative and accountability structures and control systems in the private, public and not for profit sectors. A/P James has several published articles, she also referees up and coming research articles by other authors. Recently, with a team of academics and professionals, Associate Professor Wendy James was awarded ACU's prestigious University Medal for Excellence for work on "Credit, where its due" for veterans of the Australian Defence Force.
