I oversee all operations and cast the vision for the ministry, establish goals and objectives, establish measures and “triggers” for organizational growth, facilitate leadership summits each year (providing training in the areas of perception, success, attitude, planning & delegating, empowerment, team building, management & leadership, effective communication, meeting management, business ethics, legal and regulatory compliance, marketing, church planting, church administration, financial planning, financial decision making, strategic planning, spiritual warfare, outreach ministries, human resource management and church growth), appoint “champions” to serve as team leaders for projects being implemented within the organization, preside over all meetings and convocations of the Zion Ministries General Assembly and leadership of the ministry, review & offer final approval of candidates for ordination & consecration by the ministry, oversee all aspects of financial planning and strategic management for the ministry, ensure that all paperwork required for respective Secretaries of State, Illinois Department of Revenue and United States Department of Revenue are in order and properly submitted in a timely manner, provided community development assistance to residents feeling they “had no voice” in government or with their local elected officials, worked to ensure all within communities had access to decent infrastructure and have better quality of life, grew fellowship from two churches in Illinois and Texas to ministries in more than thirteen different countries.

I serve as the senior pastor of a church founded over 165 years ago! In 1859, members of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church began holding services on the corner of Alabama Street and Wood Avenue (formerly Market Street) in Florence, Alabama. One public record states that the property was purchased for fifteen dollars. The first pastor of St. Mark was Reverend Cordy White. The first building was erected under his leadership. The present structure was erected in 1901 at 220 East Alabama Street under the leadership of St. Mark’s second pastor, Reverend L.J. Green. St. Mark was incorporated on October 7, 1950. In the same year, Reverend George E. Nelson began serving and was installed as pastor in March of 1951. Three years after his installment, the church was renovated under Reverend Nelson. In 1974, an educational facility was added. Over the past 155 years, St. Mark has served communities of Lauderdale County, Alabama under the leadership of the above named pastors as well as other which include: Reverend Judge Johnson, Reverend Rufus Slack, Jr. and Reverend James E. Coleman. In 2012, a pastoral search committee began efforts to fill a vacancy. On December 8, 2013, I was “voted in” as pastor by the members of the congregation. The members of St. Mark are committed to entering the church to worship and be educated so they can go out to serve the communities of The Shoals--and even the world!

Elected in 2009, I served alongside four other council members for the purpose of appointing/overseeing the city manager, crafting/implementing policy and exercising representative power on behalf of the citizens of Greenville, Illinois. Resigned and relocated to Florence, Alabama to be closer to family in Florence, South Carolina on August 1, 2011.

Engaged all students for the purpose of preparedness and connectedness through targeted messages and a communication matrix, utilized a “Success by Three” model to better engage freshmen and sophomores, implemented Panthernet for the purpose of creating a “one stop shop” for student success, utilized survey and assessment tools to identify and communicate with “at risk” students, assessed satisfaction and needs through use of the Student Satisfaction Inventory, helped students (particularly sophomores) assess their strengths by way of the Gallup StrengthsFinder, participated in guiding each student with a learning contract, initiated Care Team Meetings to help students gain focus and avoid academic derailment, conducted retention and attrition analysis, provided counseling services to students, provided tutoring services for all general education classes and others deemed necessary by faculty, provided academic advising and special assistance for all students, provided mock interviews, provided resume and cover letter training, provided career advising, helped Admissions strategically reduce at-risk student populations, increased minority and athletic retention above that of the traditional students, formulated and administered policies, chaired Student Success Council, assessed and monitored the effectiveness of retention programs, taught in classroom (Introduction to Management, Electronic Commerce, and Strategies for Success).

Provided Owner and President with recommendations for capital improvements, served as Lead Auditor and Management Representative as required by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), supervised two direct reports and ten indirect reports in engineering and production, supervised operations and maintenance of all equipment in plant, recommended and managed capital expenditures and equipment installations, ensured production departments met annual plans and goals, coordinated maintenance and repair of in house machinery and equipment, setup local access network and maintained all software and hardware, developed and implemented auditing procedures for administrative staff and manufacturing employees, ensured all departments within the company followed all operational procedures outlined in Quality Manual.

Directed one superintendent, six supervisors, and two administrative assistants, responsible for production and safety of up to 300 union employees working on three shifts including two Paint and Wastewater Management Controllers, served as Internal Auditor, generated and presented monthly reports to senior management, ensured departments met company’s Annual Budget and Incentive Plan Goals, utilized SPC to reduce paint cost from $0.76/unit to $0.64/unit ($400K annual savings), successfully changed chemical suppliers for parts washer which resulted in 24.5% decrease in repair costs and 62.8% decrease in scrap cost, reduced overall scrap totals by 56%, restructured a production line in order to facilitate a 367% increase in production output, eliminated one shift of production on two roll forming machines by changing the hanging pattern in which parts were painted, implemented the use of new type of disposable paint hooks that reduced the frequency in which part carriers were sent out to be stripped of excess paint, performed “Make vs. Buy” Analysis for the purpose of maintaining the most competitive manufacturing cost while maintaining overhead absorption, implemented “Pre & Post Operational Checklist” for operators to improve operator accountability, utilized Six Sigma principles to benchmark performance of departments within organization, utilized Line Balancing techniques to improve productivity on assembly lines.

Manager-In-Training in United States (McBee, SC) and The People’s Republic of China (Nanjing) while serving as a: Manufacturing Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Control Project Engineer & Special Projects Engineer. Facilitated the use of Water Blown Foam on Assembly Line, served as Plant Y2K Coordinator, tracked progress of Capital Expenditure Project Requests, compiled daily utilization reports for Plant Manger/V.P. of Operations, evaluated more effective way to utilize MRP while also integrating a plant-wide bar code plan, directed a team of 20 Chinese construction workers in a new plant “startup”, supervised a Fabrication Department of twenty tank fabricators and three mechanical contractors, invented a tank and flue diverter for a furnace line which yielded thousands of dollars in safety savings (prevented operators from exposure to potential back strains), invented a Head Press Arm which prevented tanks from axially rotating while being cycled through the manufacturing process, invented a “Spud Vacuum Clean Out” to remove excess glass slurry out of pipe fittings on water heaters, eliminating the need for operators to drill hardened bisque in areas where temperatures were in excess of 100 degree Fahrenheit and great exposure to airborne contaminants

Assisted Professional Engineer in digitizing power lines through the use of AutoCAD, assisted Site Engineer and lab technicians with data processing and repair of data recorders.
