He Pou a Rangi Climate Change Commission, is the New Zealand Government's independent advisor on climate change. It's role is to guide successive governments on Aotearoa New Zealand's transition to a low emissions economy by providing expert advice on, and monitoring of, mitigation and adaptation targets and policy.The role of Strategy & Performance Manager was to work closely with senior leadership, including the board, to develop and implement organisational strategy, planning, reporting and performance initiatives. This included management oversight of outputs including workflow, expert advisory, QA, and reporting to support the Commission's performance.

Working as a freelance climate policy consultant. Contracts have covered electric vehicle policy in the EU and Germany, corporate engagement to accelerate zero-emission heavy-duty truck adoption, and production of research report on the role of local government networks in influencing national climate policy and action.

InterClimate Network is a fantastic little charity that inspires and enables young people to consider climate sustainability to be one of their priorities in planning their careers and lives. We work in secondary schools with students from age 13-18. We engage young people with the complexities of climate change, inspire their climate action, and promote their voices in their own sustainable future. As a trustee my role is to ensure the organisation is effectively and efficiently governed in accordance with Charity Commission regulations and guidance. As one of the board's climate change professionals I also help to review external material produced for schools and am part of the impact assessment sub-committee.

Member of Executive Management Team (EMT) reporting to CEO with primary responsibility for coordinating the development, implementation and ongoing assessment of The Climate Group's global strategy. Accountable for production of key management and governance reports, including Quarterly Executive Report to Board and narrative section of Annual Report to the Charities Commission. Responsible for Global Risk Register and regular risk assessment. Oversight of UK Fundraising Team with line management responsibility for Heads of Philanthropy, and Business Development. Also line manager for Global Governance Manager. Organisational lead for international climate policy issues, including as The Climate Group's representative in the We Mean Business Coalition policy working group, the World Economic Forum's Friends of Climate Action and other key international climate networking initiatives.

Appointed by the Board as Acting Chief Executive during an 8 month transition phase between the respective departure and arrival of outgoing and incoming CEOs. Ultimately accountable for all executive aspects of the organisaton during this time, including strategy, finance, fundraising, governance, communications and human resources. A key achievement over this period was working with a great team and board under challenging circumstances to ensure a smooth transition, including almost a complete renewal of the Executive Management Team, with minimal disruption to programmatic work and fundraising efforts.

Acted as spokesperson for the organisation on policy issues, including on TV, in the press and digital media.

Responsible for policy and research to support The Climate Group’s ‘Clean Revolution’ campaign aimed at mobilizing climate action by business and government leaders. Project manager for influential Aviation Global Deal Group working with leading international airlines, including British Airways and Cathay Pacific, to develop a global policy framework to address aviation CO2 emissions. Undertook regular external representative duties, including conference presentations, panel discussions, TV and press interviews, webinars and a select committee hearing. Provided policy support and quality assurance for outputs in other offices, including Beijing and New Delhi. Managed UK policy team (up to five direct reports) and developed and implemented a more formal and structured intern programme for the UK office. Supported Director of Strategy in coordinating the development of 2013-14 organisational strategy review, including final presentation to Board.

Responsible for tracking, reporting and analysis of UNFCCC negotiations and other related processes (e.g. G8, G20). Project manager for the ‘Breaking the Climate Deadlock’ initiative with former PM Tony Blair, including editorial production of key reports and drafting of briefing papers. Responsible for producing op-eds and other articles for CEO in various external publications, including trade press and UN publications. Corporate relationship manager for Virgin Group and Cathay Pacific. Attended and reported on UN negotiation sessions as an official NGO observer on behalf of The Climate Group.

Hired on a rolling contract to provide policy advice for The Climate Group's 'Breaking the Climate Deadlock Initiative' with former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair. Key activities included acting as editor for a suite of 14 in-depth policy papers covering a range of climate issues including carbon markets, adaptation, forestry, finance, and innovation. Also prepared briefings and draft articles for Mr Blair and his team.

Two years as desk officer in the Ministry's Trade Negotiations Division covering non-agricultural market access issues at the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Particular responsibility for forestry and fisheries trade, including international illegal logging. Budget manager for a NZ$1.8m fund to support market access research.A year and half as desk officer in the Ministry's Environment Division as part of the international climate negotiations team. Provided support to New Zealand's Climate Change Ambassador, including drafting of regular briefings for relevant ministers and the Prime Minister's office. Worked across key departments (Treasury, Environment, Agriculture) to help support the coordination and development of New Zealand's international negotiating position. Delegation liaison officer for New Zealand delegation to UN climate conferences, including arranging bilateral meetings for minister and managing relationships with key domestic stakeholders.
