I am more than a mechanical engineer, I am a “Maker”. What I mean by that is that all my life I have loved to troubleshoot problems and solving them.I also love to interact with people too. I care for individuals and respect their opinions and suggestions.I received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from NJIT in 1981, where unlike the engineering group that were formulating formulas, my curriculum in the technology program took the formulas and applied them to solve real touch problems. While getting my degree I worked 2nd shift programming and running CNC milling machines.Working for Singer Kearfott Guidance and Navigation as a Manufacturing Engineer I developed assembly processes for the primary guidance system for NASA’s Space Shuttle program as well as Ring Laser Gyro units for the military. In 1994 I moved on to work for Martin-Marietta as Sr. Manufacturing Engineer where I was responsible for manufacturing documentation and records of the power distribution unit on commercial and military communication satellites. I joined Lucent’s Specialty Fiber Division in 2000 obtaining the position of Member of Technical Staff 1 where his responsibility was Team leader for optical fiber fusion splice qualification and research between Erbium Fiber and numerous special composition fibers. In 2004 he joined Princeton Lightwave as Staff Engineer taking over the CAD responsibilities for package design of electro-mechanical and opto- mechanical parts and assemblies. Responsiblities included incoming inspection of all components as well as controlled bills of materials for all product lines. Finally we were purchased by ARGO AI, an autonomous vehicle developer, where the wanted our LiDAR technology. I have also worked for companies reverse engineering damage parts to replace from automotive to large scale printing presses.Now I have been using my passion to “Make” and solve problems using Solidworks 2023 and equipment I have purchased over the years. These include a Dell workstation, which I run Solidworks from, 5 FDM printers, capable of printing with PLA, ABS, Nylon, and ESD protective plastic. I also own and use several different types of 3D scanners from a hacked Kinect, to an industrial NextEngine 3D Ultra HD Scanner. Two other tools in my arsenal is a 1m x 1m CNC router, X-CARVE, and an EPILOG 12”x18” CO2 Laser.My other interests are:• Dog training, where I am a certified dog trainer from the Animal Behavior College in Ca.• Motorcycle riding. • Antique cars• Cooking and eating• Of course my family.
