Designed and redesigned sheet metal and metal components in 3D for both new and existing rooftop curbs that correspond to add RTU manufacturers standards using proven methods. Implemented changes to existing Solidworks templates that reduced errors and increased speed and ease of use upon design of custom curbs. Designed new product lines that included the choices of material, method of manufacture, and also set up complex design table and equation driven Solidworks models and blueprints that can be updated quickly to respond to customers needs.

Updated previously drawn Cadra component and assembly documents and converted the same into SolidWorks 2009/2010/2012/2013/2014 3D models, 3D assemblies and component prints to improve efficiency for both the production and assembly operations. Implemented changes to blueprints that improved clarity and quality which includes: reconfiguring existing prints by making baseline dimensions more consistent, adding more detailed views to assemblies, and adding bills of materials to sub-assemblies and assemblies.Selected Achievement:• Made design improvements and managed the transition of a new machine platform from research and development to production. Currently working on phase two of the same machine platform with a focus on cost saving and efficiency.

Created corresponding component blueprints, frame weldment drawings, sub-assembly drawings, assembly drawings, and a fully comprehensive bill of material. The reverse engineering of the existing right hand mirror image helped to speed the design process.

Updated previously drawn AutoCAD 2004 tool components and assembly documents and converted the same into SolidWorks 2007 models, assemblies and component prints to improve efficiency for both the production and assembly operations. Designed fixtures using SolidWorks 2007 for destructive testing perform quality audits on existing tools to make tool design improvements. Redesigned existing fixtures for assembly and packaging using SolidWorks 2007 to alleviate confusion and clutter on the production floor. Ran drop tests on existing bulk packaging configurations to make cost effective improvements. Developed and tested new procedures for both tool assembly and bulk packaging for production floor. Investigated and identified various tool quality issues by using root cause analysis and DOE using MiniTab 14. Selected Achievement:• Redesigned packaging fixtures for elastic stapling process. The majority of the hand tools were packaged in this manner. Reduced the number of existing fixtures on the production floor from 96 to 24 by combining similar configurations taken in .dxf form from AutoCAD 2004 drawings and inserted into SolidWorks 2007 part files. The new fixtures had to balance both support for the plastic clamshells and provide clearance for the tools being packaged. The new fixtures were then modeled in SolidWorks 2007 and detailed prints were produced.

Developed and ran engineering tests using root cause analysis and DOE to pinpoint areas in the production process that were causing scrap. Analyzed SPC data from all product lines to identify primary defects from all processes and to remedy any full panel scrap issues. Troubleshot and investigated any quality issues or machine malfunctions dealing with production machines for all applicable processes. Completed detailed technical reports daily using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to document any product quality issues, regularly occurring product checks or calibrations and solutions to machine malfunctions.

Designed and engineered roof and floor trusses for residential applications. Designed and engineered roof trusses for post frame buildings. Applied applicable roof and wind loads to residential and post frame roof trusses per local building codes. Performed take-offs and estimated roof and floor truss packages for residential dwellings using architectural blueprints.
