About David Sánchez
I'm a computer science enthusiast that began programming when I was very young thanks to my parents that let me use their 8086 4,77Mhz IBM-PC computer with only MS-DOS and GW-BASIC. My dad told me that if I wished to play games, there was only one possible thing to do: build them for me, and so did I. Since then, I got special expertise within CS world in C, C++ (specially client/server and multi-threaded applications), x86 ASM, PHP, SQL and shell scripting. In 1998 I founded my first company and became in the following years self-taught in several areas such us accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, fiscal policies and related financial issues, as well as other IT areas such as networking, where I was pleased to learn real-world STP/PVST, LACP, Cisco VTP/Netflow, VRRP, OSPF, BGP4, Policy routing, Load balancing, DDoS management, MPLS, IOS and JunOS, among others. In the latest years I also got expertise in technologies around the new Cloud term, including the entire VMware product catalog, ESXi, KVM and Xen hypervisors, Libvirt, Openstack, PXE, clustering and High Availability platforms, shared storage platforms and many storage technologies.Starting in 2003, I’ve been more involved in the business management area, though I kept updating my knowledge in the tech area. This is probably which best defines my profile (mixed tech/business) which is in turn one of my strengths.I've started and participated some unsuccessful companies that have led me to lose a lot of money. Despite of that, I've learnt a lot about what you do NOT have to do, and I think that is a great value. My most successful company was Veloxia in the Internet Hosting market where I have 12 years of experience and I'm currently working on.
Listed skills include Php, Start Ups, Web 2.0, Sql, and 18 others.

Ceo & Founder
CurrentAfter exiting acens, I moved to Amsterdam and founded Stackscale BV, an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Cloud provider. This is the second time I start a venture in the Internet Hosting market and I’m willing to apply my past experience in a project that is being built from scratch, replicating things that worked out and avoiding problems and bottlenecks that I know can arise.Of course, it is not only a matter of doing something you already did but better, there are several key differences:- A global project. We were focused in the past in the Spanish market, like every other company in our market did in Spain, though some weak internationalization plans were put in place. Stackscale is based in Amsterdam, a key Internet area within Europe that will host the main European infrastructure. A USA based subsidiary and technical infrastructure will follow soon to be able to provide service in two continents, with specialized sales teams for specific regions.- Automation. In the past, too many things were done manually. Today, several technologies allows a company like ours to homogenize the physical infrastructure up to a point in which almost no customer-specific equipment is needed and everything can be automated, disregarding the project type. Moreover, redundancy can be deployed today at all levels, thus achieving immunity to hardware failures of any kind. All of this lead to much lower costs, which can be translated to either higher profit margins or lower end-user price. We bet for the latest, looking forward to massive sales, but still providing a warm, close and highly skilled technical support, which was a key success point for us in the past.
Shareholder
CurrentSimbiotika is an Internet Platform with information of spanish companies, obtained from public sources as well as provided by the companies themselves. It provides several tools for them to improve and make it grow their business ecosystem: Customers, Providers and Partners.Simbiotika is an startup but already established company. I'm currently working with my colleagues to launch a new important phase to make the company grow as fast as possible in terms of database size, and to consolidate its business model.
Co-Founder
CurrentNervia is an Internet Business Incubator and Investment firm whose portfolio is composed of more than 10 companies, most of them in the ICT industry and based in Spain.Nervia's portfolio partially includes: Delta-R (Business Rules Management System, licensed and SaaS offerings), Alquilisimo (House rental management service), Bubok (on demand book printing and delivering), Entre Lectores (book affinity social network), FDI Internet Mobile (which in turn is another Internet/Mobile Business Factory, with an extensive portfolio), FDI Consulting (Enterprise consulting, entrepreneur training, …), Tooio Mobile (Mobile Social Network), Medios y Redes Online (Blog Network), Azulia Bluetooth (Wireless applications), Why Not Challenge (Events 2.0) and T-Reto Web (Challenge's web social network), among others.Besides my work in the incubator, I've been a Board of Directors' members in some of them.
Founder
CurrentIn the middle of my studies, and with the help of my cousin, I founded my first profitable company without any economic investment. Just before the .com bubble explosion, the company achieved a fairly decent level of monthly revenues in advertisement, which abruptly fell by the end of year 2000. In terms of web traffic, it topped at 60 million page views and 4 million unique users per month a few years after it was founded. . Nowadays it still delivers more than 25 million pageviews per month despite its development was stopped long time ago. Now looking forward to relaunch the project as a 2.0 modern social network.
High End Product Manager & Shareholder
In September 2010 I moved to Madrid to serve as Product Manager at the main offices of acens. During this time, I worked in the following main areas:- Performed a full revision of the extensive portfolio of the company and re-defined most of it. A new pricing schema was also introduced after a thorough cost analysis and renegotiation with suppliers. - Developed most of the contents of the new corporate website.- I was the leader in the Marketing area to launch the new acens Cloud Solutions. In the Tech area, I took part into deciding which technologies to choose and integrate, whereas in the financial, I made a Business Case with costs, gross margins and forecasts. I was also in charge of the marketing, commercial and internal documentation involving these solutions.acens was fully acquired by Telefonica in August 2011, so in that date my shareholder condition with the company ended.
Veloxia Director & Shareholder
Just after acens group acquired Veloxia & Ferca, I worked in several integration and consolidation projects, becoming the leader of some of them. Main areas in which I worked were:- Financials: accounting plan consolidation and integration with group's ERP platform.- Business Intelligence- Business Support System- IP network integration and server migration to the group's main datacenter in Madrid.- General daily operations, being member of the company's operating board.
Ceo & Founder
I was the main founder of Veloxia, we started to sell domain names in 2001, shared hosting in 2002, and dedicated servers in 2003. In 2004 Veloxia merged with Ferca Network.A few years later the group reached more than 15.000 customers and was hosting more than 1.000 dedicated servers. In 2008, we sold the group to acens Technologies, mostly owned at that time by the Private Equity firm Nazca Capital, in a financial operation that involved cash and shares.
Owner
As a computer science enthusiast, I early developed and sold several basic billing and accounting software suites that run under MS-DOS OS, as well as some games and old game system simulators that I did mostly as a hobby. During this period, I got expertise in Basic, C, C++ and x86 ASM.
