Experience in public, private, elementary, middle, and high school communities serving as a math and science teacher, tutor, mentor, department chair, and building administrator, with a prior career in the high-tech industry managing product teams and visioning programs with emphasis on mapping applications.After teaching and leading in the Seattle area for many years, I turned to bush Alaska to work with the Yup'ik and Athabascan populations within a dual-language, high-poverty public high school in Bethel. From Bethel, I went to a small private elementary school in Anchorage to patiently lead that community through the pandemic, then shifted to Alaska's interior region to serve as a middle school vice principal in Fairbanks. I am presently in the Chicago area spending time with my family.My strengths and interests lie in whole-child development, site-based leadership, and trying to make a difference with at-risk youth.I live simply, enjoy exploring new places, value my time with family, and always appreciate a good cup of coffee.
