Dave Schatz is an energy, technology, and environmental policy professional with over a decade of experience in those fields. He currently serves as VP of Policy for Nuveen Green Capital, a national leader in sustainable commercial real estate financing solutions and affiliate of Nuveen.Prior to his role at Nuveen Green Capital, Dave served as Director of Strategy for Utility of the Future for Pepco Holdings, a utility company serving 2 million customers in the Mid-Atlantic. From 2016 to 2020, Dave was Director of Public Policy for ChargePoint, a leading global provider of smart, networked electric vehicle charging infrastructure, where he ran a portfolio of states leading regulatory and legislative engagements. Dave was Deputy Director for Policy and Electricity Markets for SolarCity/Tesla, where he led policy efforts to advance commercial solar deployments. He provided testimony to state legislatures and regulatory agencies in support of policy to promote EV, solar, and storage technologies nationwide. Dave was a senior consultant in the energy practice of the Booz Allen Hamilton consultancy firm. He worked across the U.S. Department of Defense to develop renewable energy and storage projects on public lands and military installations.
