Working with new and established healthcare companies to create new analytics capabilities

Due to changing business conditions, I was fortunate enough to enjoy some time with my family and complete some long planned vacations, re-focus my career, and research topics of interest in healthcare IT.

Managed product development and led a broad team of engineers developing solutions to make healthcare data accessible via industry standards such as Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) and the OMOP Common Data Model. Products included: 1) FHIR mapping pipelines, reducing typical data ingestion timelines by 50%, 2) A "Genomics Overlay" of curated genetic disease associations and bio-pathway relationships that can be applied to real-world clinical data to inform research and discover underlying biological causes of observed phenotypes, 3) Configurable mapping of FHIR data to analytical models and integration to a Feature Store containing 140,000 pre-built machine learning features across multiple healthcare domains, and 4) A cohort browser for identifying eligible clinical trial candidates based on clinical and pharmaceutical history.

Successfully shaped, sold, and managed analytics projects at 15+ Fortune 500 companies. Led pre-sales solutioning in the Midwest region, contributing to over 200% annual growth for the practice. As part of Optum Health, I worked to establish the business operations of healthcare exchanges for both active and retired employees. This included helping to define the strategic product design, sales and service operating models, reporting/data needs, and advising on the regulatory requirements unique to Medicare products.

As the first department head for Reporting & Analytics within UHC Medicare & Retirement Sales, I created and led a reporting and data management group dedicated to helping manage all aspects of the sales process, covering diverse topics such as campaign effectiveness, workforce scheduling, agent credentialing, commission reporting, and compliance. This led to a role in operations leadership, advising on sales and service operations, employee enrollment exchanges, and regulatory compliance requirements. I also served on the enterprise-wide Data Governance committee as a Data Owner focused on creating business cases to improve overall data quality.

As a manager in Accenture's CRM/Siebel practice, I was responsible for delivering relationship management solutions to global sales force organizations and call centers at several Fortune 500 companies. I had roles leading application development, integration, conversion, performance, and usablility.
