Scott Winger has been a Computing/Networking Technologist for UW-Madison since 1987 though, most recently, he's been a Virtual Desktop Architect for UW's Administrative Information Management Services group since the Spring of 2014.For the Fall Semester of 2016 Scott is also teaching VMware VCP6-DCV and Installing and Configuring Windows 10 at Madison College.He has a degree in Mathematics from Elmhurst College and studied the following subjects at UW-Madison:CS-302 Introduction to Programming Languages,CS-367 Introduction to Data Structures,CS-412 Introduction to Numerical Methods,CS-536 Introduction to Programming Languages and Compilers,CS-537 Introduction to Operating Systems,CS-552 Advanced Digital Logic and Computer Architecture,CS-564 Introduction to Database Management Systems,CS-640 Advanced Computer Networking.Scott earned his most-recent Professional Certifications, VMware Certified Professional (VCP510-DCV -- May 2013 and VCP550-DCV -- May 2015), as well as Installing and Configuring Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Exam 70-410 -- May 2014) and is currently pursuing the following certifications: Cisco CCNA,Microsoft MCSA,VMware VCP6-DCV.Scott has taught the following classes at Madison College:VMware Certified Professional 6 Install, Configure Manage (Exam VCP6-DCV),Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 (Exam 70-410),Cisco CCNA 1 and 2 (Exam 640-802),Installing and Configuring Windows 10 (Exam 70-698)Configuring Microsoft Windows 7 (Exam 70-680),Cisco Hardware Essentials (Exam CompTIA A+).Scott has also been a Technical Editor for VMware Press as shown in more detail below.Finally, Scott is a former blue water sailor and a nationally-recognized teacher of the sailor's arts. He ponders Beethoven, Ontology (Decartes, Kant, Schopenhauer), and Literature in his spare time and is working toward a capstone career as a computing technology writer.
