CurrentI've recently joined Optalert, a pioneering medical technology company and the leader in the field of impairment detection and monitoring, as a Product Manager across their product suite.Optalert developed the world’s leading algorithm to quantify deterioration in cognitive brain function due to drowsiness – the Johns Drowsiness Scale (JDS). This remains the only scientifically proven, objective measurement of drowsiness. The JDS is used worldwide in research for accurately quantifying drowsiness levels, and Optalert’s products protect thousands of lives and valuable company assets across multiple industries. Optalert's clients include BHP Billiton, Vale, and NASA and research partners include Harvard Medical School, Monash University, and the University of Queensland.Optalert is now turning its extensive expertise in blepharometry (the measurement of blinks) to identify the biomarkers for other forms of deterioration in neurological brain function across a variety of conditions including epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and most excitingly sleep apnoea!In my role, I am working at the intersection of customer, technology, and business, shaping product strategy, driving innovation, and amplifying the voice of the customer within the company. I bringing my decade+ of skills and experience to the next phase of Optalert’s groundbreaking work across its product suite.
