I'm incredibly proud and humbled to have been awarded an MBE for Services to Apprenticeships and Charity in Her Majesty the Queen’s 2018 New Year’s Honours and winning the East of England IoD NED of the Year Award in the same year. I have 24+ years’ experience in work-based learning, apprenticeships and skills, 18 of which have been in senior roles including Managing Director, CEO, Chair Person, Founder and NED. I’m passionate about Apprenticeships and have a desire to put my experience and passion together to support others to harness their full potential. I'm an advocate for apprenticeships, as an all age development programme and a great believer in the principles of earn whilst you learn. In my current role of Managing Director at Learn Plus Us, I've been lucky to have the opportunity to work alongside some very talented people, who are passionate about what they do. Our Childcare / Early Years team work tirelessly to provide the best engaging teaching to raise the standards across the sector. We have a newer Housing & Property team, but they too are super talented, dynamic and innovative in their approach to curriculum and teaching. Our Catering & Hospitality team is small but perfect; 79% of Apprentices received a Distinction at EPA in 2023/24 - what more do I need to say? The Business Services team at LPU adopt a range of innovative strategies to ensure teaching is memorable and feeds the imagination of apprentices of all ages. We have an amazing wrap around support service that incorporates additional learning support, mental health & wellbeing, safeguarding, English & maths, ESOL and a very popular wider curriculum. Additionally we have the very energetic and passionate ESOL and Employability teams, who mainly delivery a bespoke products targeted at supporting people to get and keep a job. In the back ground we have the Quality team who have a massive impact on the business, our learners and employers, as is evident when reading our Ofsted report which recognised so much of what we do with a straight set of GOOD grade 2's. Last but not least is the data and Enrolment team who provide an unrivalled level of service both internally and externally. And now you know why I'm proud to be the MD at LPU; we have a great team, a sense of purpose, shared values and an appetite for growth.I'm highly motivated, passionate and a loyal individual, who through drive and commitment can inspire and develop others to achieve business results. As the Ambassador for this new innovative product I come with a lot of relevant experience in the leadership and management of Apprenticeship Providers and as a current End-Point Assessor for BIIAB and CMI. It's such an innovative approach to engage Apprentices in the preparation for their EPA and promotes the concepts of learner ownership, healthy competition and how learning can be fun. This is a high quality product that has been developed in collaboration with UCL and can easily be linked to induvial care plans. I'm 100% committed to Call-to-Mind as a game that will enhance peoples' lives. I'm passionate about the positive impact Call-to-Mind will have on people suffering from dementia and other forms of memory loss.
