At IITM, I completed the feasibility study on the implementation of an Archive Data Management System (ADMS) for Indian cities. This study would be a primer for future projects of implementation of similar systems. My functions at the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) were twofold. I was part of both the Transportation System Management (TSM) and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) teams at SANDAG. As part of the TSM team, I assisted in the performance monitoring efforts for the region’s freeways. I was part of both the Transportation System Management (TSM) and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) teams at SANDAG. As part of the TSM team, I assisted in the performance monitoring efforts for the region’s freeways. I was responsible for traffic data collection, analysis and the presentation of results in the form of reports, charts, tables and maps. These efforts were central in the preparation and publication of a public document titled ‘State of your Commute’, available at SANDAG's Web site. The intent of this document is to convey the performance of the region’s freeway system to the public. I was also part of the Project Development Team for the Violation Enforcement System (VES). The objective of this project was to test the performance of a camera that would identify the number of occupants traveling inside a vehicle. This camera would be installed on the freeways and would enforce the occupancy requirements on the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes.On the TDM side, I was part of an effort to implement a Navy Buspool pilot project. The Navy being one of the largest employers in the region, was an ideal choice for a pilot TDM initiative. During this initiative, I had the opportunity to work closely with representatives from the Navy and from the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), the region’s transit operator. In addition, I prepared growth projections for the TDM program in connection to the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) and I have contributed to various other projects as well. Show less
