My introduction to property happened after a secondment from Emira Properties to Eris Properties, where I worked as an Assistant Leasing Manager on new and existing developments. There I managed to launch the then newly developed Maseru Mall, where our team achieved 70% occupancy before the opening.Soon after that tenure, I joined Retail Africa, before being approached by the Billion Group to handle all leasing and property administration matters for their retail portfolio, which included some notable and very large malls.I was there noticed and approached by JKH Consulting, which is a retail firm that specialises in tenant representation and consulting by negotiating renewals as well as establishing new sites with landlords on the tenant’s behalf. Rebosis approached me and this time appointed me as the National Leasing Manager across their retail portfolio.In my current venture I am the Portfolio Manager for the Investec, now Burstone retail portfolio which is managed by JHI Excellerate and is managing a rather large retail component, consisting of regional shopping centres.My background in retail leasing – inclusive of new developments – as well as the fact that I have represented tenants, gives me a well-rounded approach and understanding of landlord and tenant requirements. I pride myself with interpersonal skills. Working hard and smart independently is just as important as working within a team. I have a sincere interest in my colleagues' well-being. I find great joy in empowering and helping people. It gives me great satisfaction to share success and achievements.
