Standardization efforts around ISO/IEC 17826:2016 - The Cloud Data Management Interface (CDMI)Version 2.0 is now released as a SNIA Technical Position - https://www.snia.org/sites/default/files/technical_work/CDMI/CDMI_v2.0.0.pdfCDMI is an industry standard for cloud data namespace discovery, access, and management. CDMI has been adopted by dozens of industry-leading storage companies, open source projects and academic and government cloud initiatives.

As part of the SNIA Computational Storage technical working group, I was actively involved in the standardization of distributed computation as part of storage devices, including discovery, configuration and transformations of local data and data flows within storage devices and subsystems. In addition to contributing on the general spec, I also participated in the NVMe Standards contributions, and lead the user-space library sub-team.

As part of the SNIA Object Drive technical working group, I was involved in the standardization of Ethernet connectivity for storage devices, object protocols and embedded compute environments and management.

Standardization efforts around ISO/IEC 20919:2016 - The Linear Tape File SystemAs part of the LTFS technical working group, I helped with the authoring of a standard to allow large volumes of data to be transported between organizations and to and from the cloud using standard LTFS tapes. This standard has major promise to simplify and ease data transport challenges encountered by large organizations, and by the media and entertainment sector.

As a Technical Director for Project Astra, I was responsible for guiding the development and architecture of next-generation Kubernetes application and storage management services, building on NetApp's portfolio of cloud services, storage products and industry-leading technologies.

As the Technical Director for NetApp's Advanced Technology Group (R&D), I was responsible for guiding our group's analysis, investigation, exploration, prototyping of experimental and emerging technologies, as well as coordinating with business units within the larger organization to facilitate technology transfer and early stage partnering.

As one of three Technical Directors in NetApp's Advanced Technology Group, I am responsible for our focus area in the analysis, investigation, exploration, prototyping and initial productization of flash, disk and tape capacity storage technologies and systems.

As a Technical Director at NetApp, I am responsible for strategy, architecture and integration of our object storage initiatives. Working out of the Advanced Technology Group, I collaborate across the company on our current and future products, and engage in outreach and contributions to standards groups and open source initiatives.I have been awarded 41 U.S. patents for my work at NetApp.

Before becoming to co-chair of the SNIA Cloud Storage Technical Working Group, I was an active participant and contributor to the draft CDMI standard.

As part of the SNIA Fixed Content Addressable Storage (FCAS) technical working group, I contributed to the creation of the XAM standard for fixed-content compliance data storage.

I was one of three co-founders of Bycast, and was responsible for the overall architecture of their award-winning distributed object storage platform. Bycast was an early leader in the field of Object Storage, and focused on providing highly-reliable storage for health care organizations, including native DICOM PACS and modality connectivity.Up to the point of our acquisition by NetApp, the sum total of objects stored in deployments of Bycast's StorageGRID platform were tracking at half of the number of objects store din Amazon's S3 service.I have been awarded eleven U.S. patents for my work at Bycast.

At Squamish Media Group, I developed core technology for the creation of immersive multimedia experiences that could be delivered on CD-ROMs and over the Internet, including responsive live, ambient and triggered spatial audio, and responsive HUD mapping. As part of this work, I collaborated with Apple's QuickTime team to enhance embedded interactive functionality for web-deliverable video and QTVR.

At Paradata, I developed one of the first platforms for Internet-enabled E-Commerce, and worked on one of the earliest web-enabled credit card payment processing system. As part of this project I focused on financial cryptography and secure digital rights management to prevent financial and product loss.I have been awarded nine U.S. patents for my work at Paradata.

Assisted with road deactivation mapping, base map digitization, and report generation.
