As an instructor of database principles, my main responsibility was to teach students the foundational concepts of relational databases, where MySQL was our primary instructional tool. We started our journey by exploring the abstraction process in detail, where students learned to identify entities, attributes, and data elements. We also taught them how to create conceptual, logical, and physical models. Later, we delved into the details of Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements. Towards the end of the curriculum, we covered advanced topics such as stored procedures, functions, and key insights into indexing fundamentals.
