I was responsible for surveying their facility, speaking with application owners concerning application compatibility and migration of systems from Windows 2000 or 2003 to Windows 2008r2 or 2012r2 where applicable. The facility has a large VMWare presence and I worked with several vCenters scattered throughout the globe.

My principal responsibility was to maintain the customer facing production environment which provides audiobook and eBook rentals and sales to libraries and individuals. This environment consisted of web servers; SQL servers both Microsoft and MySQL; Active Directory for multiple forests as well as DNS; Apache and Tomcat servers running on Red Hat Enterprise Server; SOLR Search and Memcache to speed up page rendering and searches. This was all hosted at Rackspace and Amazon for media storage. My secondary responsibility was working on the infrastructure team to architect and implement new solutions for technologies such as IDS, SMTP, Adobe Content Services, Centralized logging, SQL monitoring and automated maintenance of systems.
