Hello, my name is Daniel Shola-Philips and I am a Christian student, entrepreneur, musician/producer, and aspiring software engineer. I was born and raised in New York City and I currently live in Poughkeepsie, NY. I am a freshman at the University of Maryland studying computer science for my bachelor's degree. I am also the co-founder of a company, VerseGroup, LLC, in which we create applications to help our community including our current project SchoolVerse which is currently being used by our high school, Hackley School, to manage all student data in one universal app (schedules, assignments, menus, clubs, events, sports, etc.).I am very passionate about computer science as that is what I want to have a career in after college and I am also interested in entrepreneurship, through app development, to help use my passion for computer science to help my community. Through my current and past extracurricular experience, I improved my creativity, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. I also used these skills along with problem-solving for the front-end design of SchoolVerse, to create an effective, yet appealing interface for users of our platform. I hope to use my experiences, hobbies, and skills to learn and apply myself in my future career endeavors.
