I founded Tineo to provide advice on philanthropic investments in social and environmental initiatives. I advised the BHP Foundation to implement its Chile Program strategy for education equity and environmental resilience. Outcomes of my work include 1) Managing external audit of a 6-year project that equipped isolated indigenous communities in northern Chile with human capital and solar energy technologies (Ayllu Solar); 2) Project Design of a 5-year project to install computer science in Chile’s public education curriculum (IdeoDigital); 3) Scoping and co-designing projects to address critical coastal challenges.

Consultancy to support two initiatives: 1) Nature-based recovery to promote nature-based solutions (NbS) post-COVID-19 pandemic; 2) Roadmap for Peatlands Conservation in southern Chile.

Consultancy to assess economic instruments for biodiversity conservation in terrestrial environments in two pilot sites in southern Chile, and guide the design of a project to submit to the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). The outcomes of my work included the successful submission and approval of US$ 2M to implement the project.

I joined as Executive Director and first full-time employee to lead the growth of the organization. Some of my responsibilities included: 1) Ecological monitoring of a private protected area in Chilean Patagonia; 2) Landowners’ engagement to create new private protected areas; 3) Board of Directors engagement; 4) Fundraising. The most relevant outcome of my work was securing a US$ 2M grant enabling us to protect additional land and grow the organization.

Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile

I joined to support the implementation of the South America Program. Some of my responsibilities included: 1) technical field conservation work for invasive species management on islands; 2) stakeholder engagement, including funders, government agencies, and local communities; 3) material development, including technical guides, manuals, magazines, videos; 4) general administration and office management. Outcomes of my work include contributing to 1) eradicating invasive rabbits from Chañaral island, and the reintroduction of the locally extinct Peruvian-diving petrel; 2) facilitating a public-private working group to develop an invasive species management plan in the Juan Fernandez Islands; 3) content development and editorial work for a community-driven environmental magazine.
