I am often described as jack of many trades having tried much before finding my love of engineering. However, I wouldn't trade any of those experiences because they are what makes me a unique and valuable asset to the software teams I have been on. I think a little differently. I approach problems in often unorthodox ways. Because of this, my teams have often found themselves at an advantage over a problem that otherwise might have squeaked through planning and blown up in our faces. Beyond being an engineer, I also possess both a strong philanthropic and entrepreneurial spirit. I am currently writing a geo-location focused mobile application with a group of friends as well as designing an arduino powered tool to help mitigate visual effects production costs on low budget films. I am also an active member of the YouTube community with my brother in which we produce small short films and podcasts discussing various topics. In the Past I have been involved in the *coder dojo project* in Chicago, which teaches children the basics of coding. I also successfully produced a 20 episode science fiction web series that employed over 25 people over the course of a 2 years. What I’m looking to do nextMy next role would ideally give me the chance to lead the discussion in designing portions of the code base as well as to mentor junior members of my team. I would also like to continue working across the full stack and see my database skill set widen.
