In September 2020 I began the role of General Manager of the UK Spares, Service & Repairs Division. Since then i have using my knowledge and experienced gained on Broadbent Centrifuges to offer the best possible aftersales support to our customers, whilst also growing the business and our capabilities as a Division.

In January 2017 I started a new role within the company as Global Technical Support Engineer. I have worked as a contact at the company for our many customers around the world offering Technical Support , dealing with any queries they have and subsequently providing the relevant information and assistance required.

The next step from Repairs and Refurbishment was the Service Department. This involved predominantly working on customers sites all over the UK as well as overseas. I have had the opportunity to travel to countries such as China, Thailand, Japan, North and South America as well as many others. This work involved the Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance and Service of our machinery as well as other tasks. I would quite often be alone overseas and had to manage myself while also making the necessary decisions to complete the job in hand as efficiently and effectively as possible. I also dealt face to face with several customers, sometimes with a language barrier present, to relay the relevant information whilst also building good customer relations. My experience in the Service Department further expanded my knowledge and allowed me to learn more about the machines whilst in service. This included the different products and processes that are used in our Centrifuges, and the best ways to prolong the running time of the machines by way of preventative maintenance. Also the products themselves and how to optimise the Centrifuges for the best performance possible.

While working in the Repairs and Refurbishment Department I was responsible for the dis-assembly, reassembly and inspection of various Centrifuges which had previously been in service. After the above was completed I would write a detailed report of all my findings. This would include any damage or wear seen during the dis-assembly procedure and all relevant dimensions of critical parts compared to the drawing tolerances. It would also include the new parts and repair work which would be required to restore the Centrifuge into 'as new' condition. During this time I worked on an even more diverse range of Broadbent Centrifuges in a variety of different conditions. I also had the opportunity of working on other non-Broadbent equipment while in this department, as well on different customers sites from time to time, which allowed me to broaden my knowledge further.

Almost 10 years in the Assembly Department, initially as part of an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship and then as a fully qualified Assembly Fitter. During this time I had experience of assembling all the different types of Centrifuge manufactured by Broadbent's. I have worked both individually and as part of a team and also trained other apprentices or new starters, working safely and in the most efficient manner. I have seen the job right through from a kit of parts to a fully assembled and tested Centrifuge, always complying with the relevant ISO Regulations and company procedures.
