About Daniel Wan
I am an experienced Engineer with 10 years of experience working in design and development and manufacturing in the medical device industry. I have experience with introducing new products to market, design and development of production processes until a stable state is reached and production lines are handed to the Manufacturing Team. I have experience with design for manufacture and ensuring that products are able to be built at high quality, minimum time to market and low cost of goods sold. I have worked extensively in the regulated medical device field (Class III) and I am capable of operating in a highly regulated environment. I have planned and managed a range of activities from product development to technology research and managed the operational budgets of these projects that have been related to my function. I have managed teams of engineers on these activities to achieve positive outcomes for the company through collaboration, support and mentoring.I have been the Lead technical NPI engineer responsible for delivering the Cochlear Nucleus 6 and Nucleus 7 Systems. These systems comprised of several wearable medical devices and supporting devices. My key responsibilities were the design for manufacture, process design, prototype manufacturing, verification and validation of manufacturing processes and ramp up to manufacturing launch. The Nucleus 6 launch was a critical success in both technical and business outcomes.As an NPI Engineer I was responsible for delivering several critical wearable components of the Cochlear Nucleus 5 System. I successfully introduced several product lines to internal manufacturing site and at external Tier 1 EMS partners. I ensured that key deliverables and metrics for products were met and that the transition to product launch was successful.
