Achieved 30-50% reductions in injury shootings, significantly outpacing national trends. Advised Oakland, Stockton, and 8 other California cities, and San Carlos Apache Tribe in Arizona. Completed in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses of local violence dynamics to guidestrategy development, and trained 12 cities to conduct such analyses on an ongoing basis.Built strong working relationships with public agencies, community based organizations, academics and other experts. My job involved high level strategic planning, leveraging networks of advocates, managing coalitions with diverse interests, and strengthening infrastructure for affected communities to have greater voice in policy and strategy. I have extensive experience supporting an array of stakeholders in solving complex problems, and building individual and collective capacity for system transformation. Examples include strategizing with community organizers about advocacy approaches, collaboratively developing performance metrics, guiding city and criminal justice officials as they shifted policy and management practices, and designing and conducting trainings on a range of topics. This includes Principled Policing, the first Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST)-certified course on procedural justice and implicit bias in the nation, with police and community leaders, California DOJ, and Stanford SPARQ. Also managed all aspects of operations including grants, contracts, and fiscal administration.
