Professor David Strong David is currently a Director of David Strong Consulting Ltd. and an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham, School of Architecture & the Built Environment. In Sept. 2013 he was also appointed a Visiting Professor at the Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development. Between May 2007 and September 2010, he was Chief Executive of Inbuilt Consulting Ltd specialising in sustainable building design, consultancy and research.Between 1998 and 2002 David was a Divisional Director at the UK’s Building Research Establishment and between 2002 and 2007 Managing Director of BRE Environment, with responsibility for 300 staff in five major centres of expertise; Sustainable Development, Housing, Sustainable Energy Centre (formerly BRECSU with responsibility for delivering the UK governments Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme), Environmental Consultancy and the BREEAM Centre. He was presented with the 2007 Building Sustainability Leadership award for establishing the UK Green Building Council, with the judges describing him as “one of the most influential figures in the drive to make the industry sustainable”. His book “A Whole-System Approach to High-Performance Green Buildings” was published by Artech House in December 2016.
