Noname Security Nov 2021 - Present
    San Jose, Ca, Us
Responsible for all GTM activities and development of alliances. This year, I led the partnership with IBM from the initial call to contract negotiations that resulted in an OEM agreement whereby IBM sells the Noname API Security Platform as an IBM product. Now, I'm leading the way in accelerating the partnership to drive revenue for Noname.I was also responsible for Noname earning the Accelerated by Intel endorsement. As one of only a handful of cybersecurity companies to earn this endorsement and all of the others being large companies, I'm proud of our Alliances team and the great things we have accomplished.I am responsible for partnerships with Cloud Platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle, IBM, and Alibaba. I am responsible for relationships with GSIs, including Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, PWC, Cap Gemini, and EY. I am responsible for technical alliances with security, application delivery, and API Management companies. We now have relationships with companies like Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, F5, Mulesoft, Axway, SoftwareAG, Apigee, and IBM. In less than a year, all of these partnerships were forged and increased Noname Security's visibility in the marketplace. These alliances were established, grown, marketed, and prospered over the past year.

  • Thomason Technologies
    President
Thomason Technologies Sep 2007 - Present
As President and Founder of Thomason Technologies, I have combined all of my previous experiences into a company that specializes in network security with even more expertise in industrial networks. My experience with the AFCERT gives us the operational experience and know-how to organize and run an incident response, to quickly react and prevent further damage. My consulting and sales experience has given us the ability to work with customers, achieve desired outcomes and create win-win situations. My development experience has led Thomason Tech to design, develop and deploy new, purpose built technologies for our customers -- filling a void for particular market segments that are not well served by general purpose products.

  • Sourcefire
    Senior Director, Technical Services
    Sourcefire Jan 2003 - Oct 2007
    Columbia, Md, Us
I joined Sourcefire as employee number 35 when the company had just finished a year with only $2M in revenue. Over the next 4.5 years, I grew the pre and post-sales consulting teams to over 25 consultants with revenue of over $4M. Additionally, hardware and software sales rose to almost $250M. During this time, we endured a failed acquisition attempt by Checkpoint and successfully executed an IPO. After the IPO, I decided it was time to start Thomason Technologies.
  • Secureinfo
    Vice President Sales
    Secureinfo Aug 2001 - Jan 2003
I was initially hired at SecureInfo as the VP of Consulting, but three days into the job I inherited the position of VP of Sales. I quickly went about hiring sales people in our key locations that included Austin and Washington, D.C. Within weeks of hiring our federal sales rep, I was working in D.C. when the Department of Veteran Affairs posted a small business set aside opportunity for their new Security Operations Center. Within one day, we had requests from multiple Fortune 500 companies asking us to prime the contract and invite them to participate. Instead, I convinced SecureInfo leadership that we need to go with a smaller company that had just lost its Small Business designation, but they were responsible for having built the VA backbone via GSA contracts. Much to everyone's surprise, we won the $110M contract and grew from 35 employees to approximately 135 in 30 days.
  • Internet Security Systems
    Se Director, West
Internet Security Systems May 1997 - Aug 2001
    Armonk, New York, Ny, Us
After having helped establish the AFCERT as the military leader in cybersecurity, I went into commercial consulting as private businesses were struggling to catch up. I joined Internet Security Systems as a consultant, but was very quickly promoted to a management position, responsible for consultants all over the Southwestern United States. Later, I became the Director of all pre-sales security engineers in the Western United States. In this role, I helped numerous companies to design, acquire and deploy best-of-breed intrusion detection systems. I helped to define, design and build operations plans for Security Operations Centers in the US and in South America. In fact, I was the project manager responsible for the largest deployment of IDS systems in a US based financial institution.
  • Afcert
    Team Lead
    Afcert 1995 - 1998
  • Trident Data Systems
    Incident Response Team Lead/Project Manager
    Trident Data Systems 1995 - 1997
    Us
As an Incident Response Team Leader, I was responsible for the apprehension of attackers in three separate Air Force security incidents. In two of those incidents, I was also requested to "interview" the suspects. This was a first for AFCERT security analysts as Air Force Office of Special Investigations officers were normally responsible for the interrogation. After leading the IRT, I was promoted to a project manager position where I was responsible for further development of the AFCERT's security database as it was growing exponentially. Our team added the first web-enabled GUI to the AFCERT operations and we used that to promote our capabilities to visiting dignitaries and military commanders. These efforts highlighted the need for better information security throughout the Air Force and influenced Air Force budgets and command decisions for years to come.
  • United States Air Force
    Network Security Officer
United States Air Force Oct 1985 - Dec 1994
    Randolph Afb, Tx, Us
As a computer programmer, I was top of my class at tech school with unusual skills in assembly language. My first assignment was with the 6964th ESS where I was responsible for programming an antiquated system, the Univac 1830A. It was a 30 bit processor with 64K of memory and took a large truck to haul it around. From this position, I moved into programming in "C" as the Air Force was moving away from the lower level languages and even playing with standardizing on Ada. While I had some Ada training, it was not well suited for the classified work we were doing in "C". Our project led to the first implementation of "Open Systems" in the Intel community. We were successful in building a Linux (really SCO Xenix) platform along with a Unix Rel5r4 server and then getting an accreditation approved for communications on a classified network. This was a big deal in 1989.After a few years of working on the command staff for Air Intelligence Agency, I moved to the Securities Directorate where we build the AFCERT. I was the leader of a team responsible for the acquisition, setup and maintenance of the servers that would become the biggest security database in the world. Security events from 130 sensors poured into this server as did the results of daily vulnerability assessments. Additionally, all Air Force security events were tracked in our database. After over 9 years in the Air Force, I became a civilian and went to work in the same office -- but as a contractor.
