Created the Dublin Region Innovation Consortium of six Higher Education Institutes in the Dublin Region: DIT, IT Tallaght, IT Blanchardstown, IADT, National College of Ireland and DIAS. Delivered economic development through enterprise engagement, research commercialisation and entrepreneurship support. Successfully launched several new start-ups and licenced new technologies to multinationals and indigenous medium and small scale enterprises.

Created Hothouse the award winning Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Centre at DIT helping entrepreneurs develop over 400 sustainable businesses, attract €195m of investment and create over 1700 jobs. The companies included Movidius, Decawave, Kastus, Optrace, and Sonic Ladder. Also licensed over 140 technologies to companies such as SONY, Microsoft, Bausch & Lomb, ESB, Sherman Williams and more.

Chair the National Association of Tech Transfer Professionals in Ireland. Irish Tech Transfer Offices were ranked number 1 in performance in Europe.

6 months secondment to lead the review the National IP Protocol.

Invited by CEO Ciaran O Connell to join the Board of Decawave when it was founded to bring Business Strategy, Commercialisation and Licensing insights. Helped Decawave through the early years to a first chip, first customer, and a successful round of Series A finance.

Invited by CEO Greg Swift to join the Board of DCEB to advise on DCEB strategy for Economic Development. Reviewed and approved over 200 grant applications for entrepreneurs launching or growing businesses in the Dublin area.

Lead industry engagement to secure over €25M of research funding; helped develop the American Chamber of Commerce strategy for commercialisation of research in Ireland, won consultancy contracts with Enterprise Boards to develop and deliver a Business Growth Programmes for engineering companies in their region.

Provided Management Consultancy Services to early stage companies in the US, Canada and here in Dublin.

Ran the $100M/year Professional Services Unit selling Telecommunications consulting and systems integration services.

Lead a team of 270 engineers and scientists designing new network solutions for customers.
