Derek is involved in globally significant projects delivered in a variety of procurement methods. Currently, Derek is the Design Lead for Exhibiton Station - Ontario Line. This iconic station is multimodal and combines GO Transit, TTC buses and streetcars, and Ontario Line. The long span ETFE roof will contribute significant daylight for transit users and Station staff. Significant sustainability initiatives are incorporated into the Station design to reduce energy usage through the use of natural ventilation and efficient lighting. Exhibition Station's geography requires significant Stakeholder management with the City of Toronto, Metrolinx, Exhibition Place, and private property owners. Past roles include: Design Manager for the Toronto Pearson Terminal 3 Renovation and Expansion Project. This project will improve Toronto Pearson's ability to meet future projected growth at T3 while improving the passenger experience by adding significant retail opportunities, adding Gate capacity in Domestic, Transborder and International sectors, and reducing minimum connection times. In 2017, Derek was the Station Design Lead for Mott MacDonald's design pursuit for the LAX Automated People Mover.
