I was responsible for the installation, maintenance, performance, and security of the Oracle databases. Database responsibilities include backups, both hot and cold, performance monitoring, problem resolution, patching, and upgrading. I was also responsible for the installation and maintenance of the technical pieces of the application. I supported multiple two tier application sever layouts, with the database and concurrent managers on one server and the forms and Apache web server on the other. My responsibilities included performing clones, installing application patches, trouble-shooting issues, and assisting the developers and application support personal in problem resolution. I have setup Secure Socket Layer for the Oracle HR E-business environment.Prior to focusing on Oracle applications, I also supported a wide variety of other Oracle databases, from small databases running on Window's servers, to medium sized databases running on Linux or Unix servers, to large databases running on HP Super Dome computers. I have installed RMAN databases and set up archive log and incremental backups. I have written numerous database and application monitoring scripts using shell scripts, SQL, and PLSQL procedures.
