Practice Manager for BDG integration of BDG Guardium Team with IBM Professional Services• KPMG – Planned, Discover Module configuration and execution across KPMG batch network of IP’s to discover unknown RDBMS, and identify sensitive data. Provided POC of SQL S-Gate for data isolation, group of DBA’s defined as privileged users, were key to the POC’s project charter. Responsible for patches on all Guardium appliances, from the base level 8. Applied 6 mini-patches to all appliances.• CVS – Provided baseline, professional services documentation on current environment, with recommendations. CVS engaged the BDG Guardium Team to upgrade existing environment from V7 to V8, configure and schedule the Audit Workflow Reporting, and provide custom reporting for alerting on critical processes at the S-Tap agent level, and the overall health of the Collectors. The 2nd engagement also included expanding the applications being monitored by the Guardium Software Solution.• Gwenith Public Schools – Provided baseline, professional services documentation on current environment, with recommendations. Gwenith Public Schools engaged BDG Guardium Team to uninstall the solution, based on Budget and downsizing their environment. Completed Software removal, of the Guadium agent software on all 50+ servers.• Administrator for the internal MS Exchange email system. • IBM Certification on Guardium V7, V8.• Authored a custom script to perform base S-Tap functionality: Start, Stop, and version checking.

EDM-Security/Risk Compliance Project• Set up Proof of Concept for the Guardium Security SQL Guard Appliance, using the local S-Tap for SQL monitoring. The Proof of Concept for Sybase was successful, so the Guardium Project was funded. • Set up Lab Environment that consisted of 10 servers, a mix of Windows and AIX servers. The following databases were part of the Lab Envrionment: UDB/DB2, SQL*Server, Sybase Adaptive Server, and Oracle. • Designed the test flow using Quality Center, implemented testing and defect tracking for all lab servers using Quality Center, to test the Guardium local S-Tap agent software. • Tracked the Guardium project using MS-Project, and generated an entire listing of the production servers, using a DB-Portal that was unique and custom to MetLife. Once Lab sign-off was completed, deployed Guardium enterprise wide, across the entire DSE environment in MetLife. This included, D/R, Production standalone servers,as well as Production configured in a clustered environment. Currently transitioning roles and responsibility's of the Guardium Product, over to internal MetLife employees.• Authored a custom script to perform base S-Tap functionality: Start, Stop, and version checking.• Guardium deployment consisted of 26 collectors, 2 aggegrators, and 2 central managers. Configured the backups for the 2 aggregators, using the TSM• Responsible for patches on all Guardium appliances, from the base level 7. Applied 6 mini-patches to all appliances.

Supported RSI's data warehouse initiative. Duties included: Storage Management using EMC technologies, database hot backups to BCV's. Parallel Tuning using Oracle 9i data partitioning. Data based on the traditional Star Schema, with the time dimension be used as a date range for partition elimination. Updated init.ora parameters to increase performance during the data load and data cleansing stages of the data warehouse design. Built PL/SQL packages and stored procedures to automate several manual tasks that were in place to support the ever changing characteristics of the data warehouse. I.E., adding, deleting, and updating existing Retailers/Vendors interested in using the POS datastore.

Supported Digimarc's commercial DL/Manufacturing, in Service/Delivery, Field Support, and System Architecture. Duties included: storage management, database management, and configuration management of Sun/Solaris servers running the Oracle 9i/10G relational database. Developed and supported the following: Sun/Solaris HA/Cluster Active/Passive, Sun/Solaris HA/Cluster Active/DR Hot Standby, single servers with a remote cold standby.Provided database support for Oracle, 9i/10G, Informix 9.x, and Sybase 11.x on mixed platforms. Responsible for daily administrative duties as well as capacity planning and performance tuning.

Data Warehouse ExperienceResponsible for the GSL, Global Securities Lending application in the Boston Region.This included a 200+ GB datamart that provided clients with Reporting functionality, and real time OLTP data stores, for real time feeds, to track the Security Lending business provided by State Street. The data was preloaded into staging tables, massaged and transformed using PL*SQL procedure which was functionally directed by the business units. After data transformation the data was loaded into the permanent Data Warehouse tables. Trained on Sybase 11.2.X and version 12.x. Responsibilities also included applications running on the Sybase infrastructure.

• Chase Financial Services was in the process of building a data warehouse, 300+GB, using PeopleSoft HR as a primary feed. • Technical lead on a team of database administrators and core PeopleSoft developers. Designed the physical layout using EMC storage data frame. Built shell scripts to provide data feeds between different database environments during changes to the existing production PeopleSoft/HR environment. • Wrote several PL*SQL stored procedures to simulate data loads for benchmarks and to simulate high peak loads of the data warehouse while in the development phase. • Provided recommendations to core development team on SQL and PL/SQL code to improve performance at the query level. This included but was not limited to: Expanding the SGA’s database cache, PGA/SGA areas, sort area size, automating the collection of database statistics, and using tkprof as a tool in making performance gains. • Data Warehouse tuning engagement on two distinct Data Warehouse environments.• First Data Warehouse was a pre-canned application with minimal customized development changes. • Evaluated current environment and made recommendations. • Identified process flow improvements, poor running SQL using the tkprof utility, and wrote a small Pro/C utility to manipulate LONG RAW data that resided in one of the production Servers. • Second Data Warehouse comprised of dual E10K’s (Sun Servers) running Oracle 8.1.6 software. Reporting was driven by Ad-Hoc queries and Business Objects. • Identified process flow improvements in rolling out new summary tables to the end users when using Business Objects. This was basically a scheduling issue. I.E, changed the job from running in the middle of the business day, to running at nite, with the other batch-type programs.• Identified poor running SQL using tkprof and the V$ default views in the Oracle database, that was improved by performing HASH-JOINS as opposed to MERGE-JOIN.

• Supported a state of the art Oracle RAC-Cluster environment. The cluster was already installed and configured. Duties included transporting new applications from an existing Oracle 8i OPS environment to the new Oracle 9i RAC cluster environment. • Supported a state of the art Oracle 8i OPS Sun cluster environment. The Sun/Solaris cluster was already installed and configured. Loaded new applications into the existing environment. Infrastructure supported a hot-standby Oracle Database for D/R. Introduced graceful switchover technology, and built a proof of concept in the QA environment. Successfully tested the switchover in a live D/R test scenario. Upgraded all Oracle 9i RAC clusters to the final release of Oracle 9i, (9.2.0.5).

First USA Bank was pioneering their online banking application over the Internet. This required a DSS Data Warehouse repository to track marketing statistics and customer response. Initial data sizing was for 500GB and future growth up to 1 Terabyte was included in the Data Sizing and Capacity Planning exercise.Oracle Corp. was brought in as a partner in this initiative. Tasks included writing dynamic SQL*Loader control cards to be used by the SQL*Loader utility to load data initiating from several outside vendors, data transformation and data cleansing using SQL and PL*SQL for data after being uploaded to the main datastore, and prior to Mircrostrategy Web Reporting, developed and maintained a daily executive report using Microsoft Excel.EnvironmentSeveral Sun Servers running Solaris 2.6 were configured with Oracle 8.0.5 as the target database for the multiple feeds from outside vendors. Presorting flat files using SyncSort was used to facilitate the building of Oracle Indexes once the data was loaded into Oracle.ToolsSynSort for quick index builds. Quest TOAD GUI tool acquired to build the procedures for cleansing/transforming of the data. Oracle's native tkprof utility to aide in DSS performance tuning. OPTIMIZED mode was COST BASED, so statistics were collected automatically to enhance index performance on all tables. Built Oracle SQL*Plus scripts to create the metadata for the FIRST USA Data Warehouse. Oracle 8I TNS networking option to configure the node for access across the LAN

• Planned and designed a data warehouse using Redbrick Technology. Benchmarked Oracle 7.2.3 and Redbrick 5.0.2 • Redbrick’s better throughput on data loads, and their Star Schema transformations were more optimized then Oracle Corporation. • Built out the logical/physical datastore for the data warehouse using HP/UX volume manager and Redbrick 5.x. • Managed data warehouse security which restricted user access • Hierarchy security roles built for business access to the Data Warehouse. • Upgraded the Redbrick executable version and ODBC versions to accommodate IE 4.0 connections from the front-end. • First line of support on the Point of Sales, (POS), project • Implemented the Star Schema layout design and built both logical/physical layers. • Supported the Data Warehouse staff on phase II of the project.
