Head of Government & Industry Relations, reported to the CEO, served on the Executive Committee, routinely briefed the Board on legislative and industry activities, and on a daily basis headed Government & Industry Relations Department (staff of 15-22 and budget of $10-15 million).Responsible for all legislative and political engagement with Capitol Hill and the Administration -- including legislative strategy development and deployment, hearing preparation, advocacy, outreach, political participation.Established Fannie Mae PAC and within two years raised $1.2 million per election cycle from qualified employees.Headed all industry relationships and coalitions with housing, banking and financial services trades, and consumer groups.Managed the membership and agenda of the Fannie Mae National Housing Advisory Council comprised of nationwide heads of industry in mortgage finance, housing, building/development and non-profits.

Served as Chief of Staff and Counsel to Congressman for all matters before the House Financial Services Committee.Managed Washington congressional office (staffing and budget) and served as legislative counsel for all matters before the House Financial Services Committee (including banking, insurance, securities/capital markets, and housing). Included oversight of funding and efficiency of the Resolution Trust Corporation ("RTC") and assets disposition of failed banks and thrifts.

Law clerk for practice representing the FDIC and FSLIC as conservator/receiver for failed banks and savings & loans. Worked with partners on asset management/disposition, foreclosures, litigation preparation (i.e., document control), contract resolutions, directors & officers liability claims and securities litigation.

Legislative Assistant for House Minority Leader Vincent Callahan (R-McLean) for the 1984 and 1985 Virginia General Assembly legislative sessions. Assisted Minority Leader on the House floor and in the adjacent legislative office building. Compiled a critical vote study for the House Republicans later used by the Republican Party of Virginia.
