Code 4000 is a UK-based non-profit that helps break the cycle of crime by teaching prisoners coding. A non-profit working in UK prisons teaching inmates web development skills and help them to find work in the industry upon their release.Winner of the Vodafone UK Techstarter Award 2019 and Tees Tech Award 2020In 2021 Code4000 was rolled up in to Catch22, another charity with greater resources to help the programme flourish.

Valueworks was owned by Hg Capital, the Private Equity firm that owns IRIS Software which acquired my business in 2013.I was hired by the new CEO as he transitioned the company from a technology-enabled service business to a SaaS business. As well as advising on the technological changes and business model transition, I also helped identify an internal candidate for the CTO position and mentored and coached him in his new role.The business transition was a success and the company was acquired by Inprova Group in August 2017. I was particularly pleased to see that the CTO was later promoted to CTO for the acquiring business.
