As a planning intern, I get to be a jack-of-all trades. I work with both long-range and current planners, meaning I get to help update the Comprehensive Plan while also helping prepare zoning text amendments. I also review applications for rezonings, site plans, building and flood plain permits.

• Collaborated on affordable housing study with the housing professor at the University of Kansas • Prepared a “Best Practices” report outlining affordable/workforce housing options for North Kansas City, Missouri• Presented the report and findings of the study to the board members of the local CDC sponsor• Recommended policy interventions such as inclusionary zoning and mixed-income housing
