In addition to my formal job experience, and before I had begun majoring in Business Finance, my passion was & still is computers. In High School, I was in AP Computer Programming courses, took web design classes, and even represented my class to a UNUM sponsored Tech Event at their Portland offices that highlighted the use of Computer Science in the business world. When I entered college, my original major was Computer Science. I spent two years as a Computer Science Major & Graphic Design Minor, learning different languages such as Java, Python & HTML, and creating numerous Graphic Design projects for both my classes & commissioned work. I had numerous programming projects, even developing a game with a group of other students. Although I no longer pursue it formally, it's still a major passion and hobby that I pursue in my free time - I recently finished building my own high performance computer, and continue to do small programming projects on my own. Now, as a Finance Major, my concentration is in Management Information Systems (MIS). Our MIS program is essentially Networking & Databases, and have performed virtual projects such as setting up office networks, databases, network security, Excel, and more. My intentions of this summary is to convey that although I may not pursue this in my education as my major focus; I still have many years of experience in the subject, and continue to educate myself while applying it to what currently learning in the Business world.
