In my role as functional designer I contributed to the MES-software used in Tata's packaging factory. My primary activity was to create designs which either implemented new functionality or migrated existing functionality from older platforms. In this process I worked closely together with all relevant stakeholders (both in the factory and our IT organization) and in line with our software architecture + principles.

As a functional designer I created solutions for Axon - Keylane's all-in-one SaaS administration platform for insurance companies - specifically in the development of functionality for the application administration. This involved:- Creating solution approaches for new functionality- Working out functional designs for (to be) developed functionality- Testing of functionality- Supporting the software developers and testers on functional topicsBesides this, I also fulfilled the following roles:- Scrum master of my scrum team- Assistent teacher for introducees- E-learning builder for my functional domain

For my MSc graduation project I was responsible for developing a concept for a small scale indoor farm for restaurants. My tasks involved every step from A to Z, including (but not restricted to) project management, communication with stakeholders and conducting user research, researching and analysing relevant phenomena on both the consumer end as well as technical aspects behind indoor farming, ideating and brainstorming solutions, selecting a final concept, and working out the final concept (composition, use, technical functionality, manufacturing, etc.)

My contribution during the first three months consisted of various analyses such as conducting an internal analysis of the company, its products, and creating the SWOT matrix and analysis. During the last three months I was responsible for developing the first concept and building the physical prototype in the workplace of the faculty. Other general tasks I had were: grammar and spelling checker, safeguarding the process in terms of methodology, and presenting the progress to stakeholders.Part of the elective 'In-House Design Team' at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, which aims at innovation within large, multinational companies through the three different design disciplines within our faculty. Our assignment was to "design for the office of the future", and resulted in a strategic and tactical roadmap, three concepts for each horizon in this roadmap, and a prototype for the first horizon.

As my first introduction into the design industry I had various roles in which I supported the R&D department as well as having responsibility for developing my own designs.Within POS design I had the responsibility to develop a brandblock for their retailers, as well as adapting their current dynamic display for fairs and stores to include a certain accessoire. Together with a team I developed a foldable cardboard display for retailers, in which I was the technical manager, and I had supporting tasks in which I conducted material research for new coatings and researched issues with the mechanism.
