Ganart Technologies has developed ground-breaking technologies and services for financial transaction processing at a global level. * Co-founded company, started offices simultaneously in India and locally. Spent 6 of first 9 months on-site in India. Recruited/hired initial personnel.* Built an OLTP platform and product services, including ATM, domestic/international money transfer, and bill payments. System is highly-available and horizontally-scalable.* Created core components of highly configurable terminal client platform, including hardware interfaces.* Built offline processing systems which support the online platform and product services. E2 Systems was a startup investigating retail banking kiosks. The company did not make it off the ground.I was responsible for building and leading the teams which provide all software development. I oversaw the architecture of all systems, develop and manage project plans, manage outsource/offshore resources, vendor selection... in addition to writing code.

Rejoined Sabre as a Lead Performance Engineer. Sabre has one of the largest and fastest transaction processing systems in the world, and to keep that edge we built a performance lab to help target bottlenecks in all of our applications and systems to make Sabre the fastest solution possible. I was responsible for building test harnesses and test suites, running performance tests and analyzing the results, and building a web-based performance dashboard.

Enterprise Architecture, Application Integration, and EDI.

Various contracts focusing on systems integration, web services, EAI, service-oriented architectures (SOA), and Java/J2EE systems architecture, design, and development.Successfully designed and built new features into an imaging and archival system.Used Websphere Application Developer (WSAD) doing both core Java as well as J2EE, in support of an enterprise-wide application framework. Developed key enhancements to the portal server software used by thousands in their everyday work. Improved the portal's performance and stability and refactored parts of the system for better stability, maintainability, and extensibility.Completed engagement which entailed building an application using Vitria BusinessWare 4.1.1, integrating a legacy mainframe system using MQ Series, several database tables, and a web application, to provide a DSL Qualification service exposed via a Web Services interface. The project successfully went into production seven weeks after starting.

Performed as the Chief Architect and developer for the Process Router. The Process Router is middleware/integration software which can accept, transform, and route XML and non-XML data, based on dynamic business rules. Over 330 Java classes making use of many technologies (XML, XSLT, DOM, Servlets, JTA, Java Mail, JAF, CORBA, RMI, JDBC, EDI X12), it is a highly multi-threaded server, designed for performance and stable throughput under load. Ddefined and implemented the Platform Architecture under which all our products (Java and C++, many OS's) work together. This architecture was a Services Oriented Architecture, based on a messaging bus. The Platform included a common Console application (in Swing) to monitor and control Services. Our UCCNet Item Sync application was successfully put into production on this platform. Also worked on a solution suite for the EAN.UCC Global Data Synchronization Network, using J2EE and C/C++ components across various platforms.

As a post-sale consultant, I worked with several customers in implementing their enterprise application integration solutions using BusinessWare. While on one engagement in this role, I was selected by the client to help form and participate in an Enterprise Architecture Task Force, where I helped define and prototype an enterprise-wide messaging infrastructure and Services Oriented Architecture for linking many of their back-end applications and services with their front-end web applications.Spending over a year as a pre-sale consultant, my primary duties included building Proof Of Concept solutions for potential customers, demonstrating the product using the POC, and answering questions about the product. These responsibilities gave me exposure to many different systems where I had to learn and integrate them quickly under sometimes extreme pressure. Many of these involved defining and modeling actual customer business process and integrating with customer systems.

Hired to build and lead team to develop next-generation products, including a complete end-to-end system which would be CORBA based, utilize cross-platform techniques, C++, and Java. My responsibility was to do the research and lead the development to deliver this product. I collected requirements and published a requirements document for the product, acquired pre-release hardware platforms from manufactures and evaluated their capabilities, and successfully delivered a Product Architecture which defined the systems, services, and infrastructure required to deliver on the requirements. I also delivered a development plan which included projected timelines, resources, risks and mitigations, and all top-level use cases. I hired two employees who I directed in building prototypes and initial cross-platform class libraries.

Responsible for the design and implementation of several all-new in-house systems. One system was responsible for collecting marketing program data from a new Oracle based order entry system, and managing the delivery of that data to the 11,000+ store systems. Another system was responsible for managing all data communications between all stores systems and several in-house and external systems.I designed an architecture that would allow Operations personnel to define, modify, and monitor business processes and data flows between several systems. Integration was to be handled using custom connections to the various systems to be integrated, linked together over CORBA to a central server which managed the business processes and data flows. I worked with several departments in gathering both technical and business requirements.

Member of an elite team developing middleware and infrastructure for the next generation of SABRE products. Responsible for designing and implementing core system components of distributed systems software in both Win32 and UNIX environments. This project provided in-depth experience in systems programming for multiple platforms, network programming, performance tuning, and large-scale distributed systems design.

Performed on a team of programmers developing a CAD system using OS/2 Presentation Manager. Took over another project that used a DB2 database to track information on networked workstations, also using OS/2.

Designed and constructed entire MS-Windows 3.1 MDI application that used image-processing techniques to extract font samples from scanned images. The data was saved in multiple formats, and used by an Optical Character Recognition engine. Software was written in C++.

Performed on a team that was responsible for an MS-Windows application used to design screens for a custom Touch Panel display, using object-oriented design methodologies, CASE tools, and C++.Completed over 100 custom system programs for distributed remote control systems. In one case, constructed a complex, distributed system to handle butler calls in 500-room, 33-story hotel in Barcelona, Spain. Wrote entire system software, including custom communication protocols, diagnostics, and interfaces to existing reservation systems. Also assisted with on-site installation.Authored two technical programming books, one tutorial and one reference, on a custom development language.
