I was assigned a 600 room JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Abu Dhabi. sfa design was the interior fit out designer and I performed construction administration duties. My role was to set up the schedule of work through key matrix’s, establish manpower, organize sfa’s programming into design utilizing constructability methodologies, serve as the on-site liaison with the designers, manage the production of drawings and assist with site reconnaissance for verification of design intent. Accomplishments included submittal and approval through Marriott’s Design Review Process in less than three months, achieving the client’s board approval of schematic designs in less than six weeks, negoti-ating budgets with local general contractors meeting budget and reaching 50% CD stage within six months. .

I estimate that I performed well over 1,000 assessments during my career as a consultant and as a Regional VP with EMG. Although not a PE or AIA, I make up for it with an advanced degree in value engineering and experience performing Phase I’s, PCA’s, HUD PNA’s, ASTM PCR's, Capital Needs Assessments, replacement reserves, fair housing assessments and ADA Barrier Surveys. After blemishes are identified, I value engineered solutions and can do preliminary estimating or canvass local contacts to get cost information.
